Cheap Flicks
Location: 15375 S. Helmer Rd
Movie theater prices of today can be extremely demanding, especially if you want soda, candy and popcorn. You might as well fork over your entire wallet because for a family of four, you'll be paying close to $50. Battle Creek is home to Cheap Flicks, a refreshing alternative to high theater prices, which charges $3 per movie ticket. Although you will have to wait 1-2 weeks before viewing the latest releases, you will have a nice selection of blockbuster films to choose from. There are always 2-3 movies appropriate for younger audiences, as well as around 7 selections for the adults. Past movies have included The DaVinci Code, War of the Worlds, Finding Nemo, and The Break Up. Discounted snacks, popcorn and drinks are also available.

Attend a Sporting Event Playing at the Kellogg Arena, you will find the Battle Creek Crunch, a newly inducted member of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League (GLIFL). Also holding games in the Kellogg Arena are the Battle Creek Knights, which represents the International Basketball League (IBL). Their first season was held in 2005 and provided fans with a 21-0 season. 2006 marks the last season that Battle Creek's Class A minor league baseball team, the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays, can be enjoyed. This is a real shame because going to the Devil Ray games were pretty fun. They held numerous Friday night fireworks events after games and offered various giveaways. One night, I left with 6 loaves of Sara Lee bread as part of a promotion. After the 2006 season, you may pay a visit to the team in Midland, Michigan, which is about 2 ½ hours away.

OCCUPANCY - Our community limits the number of occupants based on the apartment size according to the following guidelines:
Unit occupancy is not to exceed two persons per bedroom, plus a child who is less than six months old and who sleeps in the same bedroom with the child’s parent, guardian, legal custodian, or person applying for that status. If the number of people applying for a single apartment exceeds the property's guidelines, the application will be rejected for that particular size of apartment. If a resident, who has a newborn less than six months old at the time of rental application or lease renewal, moves into an apartment that, once the newborn reaches the age of six months, violates the occupancy guidelines, the resident is required to either (1) move into another available apartment which has more bedrooms leased at the current market rent; or (2) move out. Rent for the larger apartment will be the current market rent for that particular apartment and a transfer fee will be due. For the purposes of this occupancy policy, a “family” shall consist of the following persons: one or more individuals (who have not attained the age of 18 years) being domiciled with: (1) a parent or another person having legal custody of such individual or individuals; or (2) the designee of such parent or other person having such custody, with the written permission of such parent or other person. The term “family” shall also apply to any person who is pregnant or is in the process of securing legal custody of any individual who has not attained the age of 18 years. Our policy is to conform to local and state requirements to the extent that they require a different standard than stated here.

BANKRUPTCY/UNPAID MEDICAL BILLS - Bankruptcy and unpaid medical bills will not automatically disqualify you.

The absence of a credit file does not affect an applicant adversely; however, if you have no credit rating, you will be required to pay an additional security deposit in addition to the standard security deposit in effect.

APARTMENT AVAILABILITY - Applications for apartment homes will be accepted on a first come – first serve basis and are subject to the availability of the particular apartment type requested. “Availability” does not necessarily mean that an apartment will definitely be available for occupancy by an applicant at the estimated date. “Available” apartments include those where a “Notice to Vacate” has been submitted by an existing resident indicating an intention to vacate on or about a certain date. Under certain circumstances, we will permit current residents who are not in default of their lease to withdraw or change their notice of moving. Other circumstances not necessarily under management’s control may also delay the date of availability of an apartment. In addition, an apartment may not be considered available because it is about to be placed under contract as an application has been made and a deposit placed to hold the apartment. If the applicant’s credit is not approved or if the applicant fails to sign a Lease by the specified date, then the apartment would again become available. Whether a particular unit or type of apartment is available can vary significantly within several hours or a day.
